Great Taste, Four Times Over — We've Just Added Three More Great Taste Awards to the Range
We're thrilled to share some brilliant news: three more of our coffees have just picked up Great Taste Awards at the 2026 Great Taste Awards, run by the Guild of Fine Food. That's on top of the Great Taste Award we already hold for our Grand Espresso Blend — which means we're now roasting four award-winning coffees here in Brighton.
Here's the full award-winning line-up:
- Grand Espresso Blend — Great Taste Award winner (2025)
- Mono Loco – Latin Blend — 1 Great Taste Star (NEW)
- Expedition Decaf Coffee Pods – The Decaf Single Origin — 1 Great Taste Star (NEW)
- Expedition Coffee Pods – The House Blend — 1 Great Taste Star (NEW)
What the judges said
Mono Loco – Latin Blend
The judges met our Mono Loco with a good rusty crema and cherry notes on the nose, with the beans and grounds carrying a fresh, perfumed fragrance all their own. On the palate, a touch of bright acidity opens the cup before rounding out into an elegant bitter chocolate, lifted by plum sweetness that keeps the depth of the fruit intact. They loved the balance, praising how the chocolate holds beautifully through to the finish, and how well those flavours expand with a splash of milk.
Brewed as an espresso, it brought a mellow, biscuity caramel aroma to the nose, following through with juicy stone fruit acidity and a rounded caramel sweetness, all carried on a rich, full body. The judges commended the impressive balance of caramel sweetness and fruity acidity, noting it pairs beautifully with milk too.

Expedition Decaf Coffee Pods – The Decaf Single Origin
Good roasted nuts and an elegant coffee background greeted the judges on the nose, opening into a fruit-forward cup with marzipan notes and lovely depth. The flavour builds into something bolder and darker, with vivid, characterful notes from the fermentation process that the judges found genuinely interesting. The mouthfeel is bright and soft, with flavours that linger for a long, long time — remarkable, they noted, for a decaf.
They described the cup as very attractive, with a good crema and an inviting aroma, its distinct fruity note and lively acidity carrying real brightness throughout. One panel picked up hints of grapefruit alongside roasted nuts on the nose, and found that a splash of warm milk brought out a creamy, chocolatey sweetness with a rounded nuttiness. For a decaf, they agreed, this was very approachable indeed.
Expedition Coffee Pods – The House Blend
Judges were won over by a striking reddish-brown crema and a fascinating floral fragrance — almost olive oil, grassy and fresh — that settled into a vine fruit note. They described the texture as chewy and viscous, with a strong, measured depth that opens into rich roasted highlights: a grown-up coffee, they concluded, to be savoured.
There's plenty of body in this cup too, matched with well-balanced acidity and a smooth, nutty finish. Add a touch of warm milk and it shows real character — milk chocolate with fresh, almost olive notes, rounded out with nuts for good measure.

Four awards, one growing collection
"It's brilliant to see three more of our blends recognised by the Great Taste judges, sitting right alongside our Grand Espresso Blend," says Ryan Deol, Head of Wholesale — Trading Post Coffee Roasters. "Every one of these coffees is roasted here in Brighton with the same care, so it means a great deal to have that reflected in the judges' notes."
Great Taste is now in its 30th year and is widely regarded as one of the most respected food and drink awards in the world, with its black-and-gold logo recognised by well over half of UK adults. Every entry is tasted blind, stripped of branding and packaging, by a panel of over 800 chefs, critics, retailers and food writers, who all have to agree unanimously on each score. Of the more than 15,000 products entered in 2026, only around 41% received a star of any kind, so having four award-winning coffees in our range is something we're genuinely proud of.
